God Exists

Brother Theophyle asks Rabbit, “So, tell me, how come you’re so sure God exists?”

Rabbit responds, “That’s easy, I created Him.”

To that, Rabbit says, “Don’t you mean, He created you?”

In the next panel, Rabbit agrees, “That’s what I said, He created me to create Him.”

To the side is a deer who wonders, “It’s one of those koans, isn’t it?”

A spider, sitting on its web, observes, “It’s clear to me.”

In Zen, a koan is a word puzzle, sort of. See here.

Decades after drawing this cartoon I wondered whether the phrase
to create him should have included in whatever shape or form or gender I believe
but decided that's a little heavy, even for Rabbit, and so I've left it out.
