Abandoned?

Brother Theophyle is angry! He says to Rabbit, "Well, all I can say is, I'm really angry at God. I mean, all the spiritual practice I perform, and where is He? You'd think, wouldn't you, that He'd make His Presence evident to me. But no! Instead, I have been abandoned."

In the next panel are four feathers drifting softly down, through the air. Rabbit asks, "Is it that you have been abandoned, or is it that you are not paying attention?"

At the side, a rooster adds, "In a word, Theo, cock-a-doodle-do!"
