Doing Battle

Rooster tells Theophyle, "I just did battle with a fox".

Theo asks, "Who won?"

Rooster replies, "Who's here, telling the tale?"

Off to one side of the cartoon is Fox, mumbling, "I'm thinking of becoming a vegetarian."

The grass and other plants on which Fox is standing, observe, "Oh, dear".
